How To Lose Weight Without Counting Calories
So with all the hoopla about counting calories and being in a calorie deficit and you know the rest, you run into a big problem.
What if you can't count calories? What if you don’t have the time? What if you’re just too busy everyday to pull out your phone?
You might hate being on your phone that much when you’re eating dinner. Or you just don't have the time each day, and you keep forgetting. Even taking pictures of your meals becomes annoying.
What if I told you, you don't have to count calories to lose weight? What if there’s a way to be in a calorie deficit without it taking over your life?
Lucky for you, that's true! And i’m going to show you exactly how to lose weight without counting calories. You’ll learn everything you need to build a solid plan without it taking over your life.
Before we get started, I want you to know one thing.
You can't mess this up.
Ever. Progress is progress. And as long as you do your best most days, you’ll get the results you want. You don't need to be perfect everyday. And if you slip up, its ok. Seriously. You have to live your life. And beating yourself up over 5 cookies ain’t worth it.
Let’s start with the calorie deficit. That's what this is all about right? Calories in vs calories out. Which means you need to burn more calories than you eat. That's it. Plain and simple. And when you do this, you'll lose weight. The right way. And be able to keep it off.
Consistency is going to be your friend. And the better you can stick to this, the better results you’ll get. This is going to take time, so get your patience ready and put it on. I promise you, this will be worth it.
Portion control is going to be your best friend. Your bff. This is going to help you lose weight without counting calories. You don’t need to overeat anymore. Eat until you’re almost satisfied, and stop there. After you digest a little bit, you’ll realize your full anyway. Don’t be a Ron Swanson.
Eating slowly will help your body realize when it’s time to stop. The faster you eat, the harder it is for your body to recognize it’s full. That’s when the itis kicks in. Chew your food like a sloth and savor it in your mouth.
A good place to start is 3 meals a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. And you can have a couple snacks too. Fruits, vegetables, and protein shakes are great options.
I want you to eat at the same times each day. This will help build consistency with your weight loss and keep you in a good rhythm.
You have to be consistent when you eat. Our hunger hormones are programmed for us to be hungry around the same times each day. It's the same reason, like on thanksgiving, you eat a shit ton of food at 2pm, outside of your normal dinner time. But when 7pm rolls around you get hungry again.
These consistent times are going to help you with overeating. If you’re not within your regular eating time, try to hold off a little until then. This is going to help you stay in a calorie deficit.
You don't need to fill your plate up. Leave some room around the edges. White space. This will let you know that your portions are in check. And don't go back for seconds. If you feel the need to eat more, chug some water. It'll help.
It should look like this. Half of it should be veggies. The next ¼ is going to be protein. The last 1/4 is for carbs and fats. Now you might think hey Nik, I want more carbs and fats than that. Well not today Leslie, if you want to lose weight without counting calories, you keep your carbs and fats in that little box ok? Please and thank you.
Now at this point you might be thinking ok, I can manage this. And you should be thinking that. This should be simple and easy to understand.
If you plan on going out, you need to limit what you eat during the day. You should limit the carbs and fats, because you'll be getting tons of those from the drinks you're having, and let’s be real, you’re going to stop at Taco Bell on the way home too.
So for breakfast, have a shake. And maybe a salad with some protein for lunch. Now you might be saying, well I can't drink on an empty stomach. Ok. But you’re not in this to get wasted every weekend. You need to make some changes. Remember those goals you told me about? Yeah, those goals. Don’t forget about them. You can have a few drinks. But I don't want to see “Larry” come out again.
Zero calorie drinks are a great way to get some flavor and still stay on track. Not drinking your calories is an easy way to maintain a deficit. A few cokes here and there, can quickly add up to 500 calories. That's a meal. So you tell me, you want a meal or 2 sodas. Yeah, same here.
Now you have everything you need to lose weight without counting calories. This will help you get the results, without having to log into your phone all day long. You’ll need to make some adjustments along the way. And that's perfectly ok. The more you do this, the better you’ll get at it. Practice equals success. And as long as you stay consistent, and stay patient, you'll get there. I know you will.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, just let me know!
